Cluttons acted as an expert to determine the value of a major riverside development site for over 500 homes. The site was being compulsory purchased by Medway Council. The matter was referred to the Lands Tribunal and was settled prior to the hearing.

Medway Council described the approx. 3.6 ha (9 acres) site as being part of an overall regeneration scheme for 500 dwellings. The claimants drew schemes showing 764 dwellings, and an alternative showing 914 dwellings.

The promoted scheme included community facilities and limited retail, with vibrant riverside ambience. The price settlement was in excess of Medway Council's original offer under the Compulsory Purchase Order. The date of settlement was July 2007.

Cluttons worked with a team of consultants including architects, engineers and quantity surveyors. We attended meetings with the consultancy team and clients, liaised with barristers, prepared valuations, an agreed statement of facts, detailed valuation report, and speaking notes for the Lands Tribunal Hearing.
