External repairs and redecoration

Putting off essential repairs until next year is a high risk strategy and may result in serious damage to your property, result in a larger bill for repairs, lead to disruption and may adversely affect the value of your asset.
Cluttons’ project and building consultancy team is responsible for a number of term instructions managing the external repair and redecoration of whole estates and is therefore extremely experienced in the maintenance of property. We are able to advise you on what repairs are necessary to your building, when they should be carried out and how much they should cost.
External repairs and redecoration projects are unique in that the extent of work is not always fully known until access scaffolding is in place to closely inspect the facades and roof. Unless you have a competent surveyor who has undertaken thorough initial inspections and understand the likely defects which may arise and plans accordingly for them, you may end up spending more than you budgeted for.
To control quality on site we employ a full time clerk of works, at no extra cost to you, who will visit your site at least once a week. The clerk of work’s remit is to monitor the quality of the work and act as a daily liaison between yourselves and the contractor.
