The main house is a long building facing southwest. The traditional outdoor staircase, typical of this area, leads to the first floor. At one time the human residents would have lived only on the first floor, with animals in the stables below providing winter heat!

The south-facing annexe, once a barn, is down a flight of steps from the main house and about 30m from it, and thus enjoys total privacy. The main door leads directly into the kitchen / dining area, and a large archway leads into the sitting room where there is an open fireplace. Upstairs are 2 double bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Last but not least, below the car parking area, is a very large “cantina” or underground storage room.

The house is on a private and fenced plot of just over 1,4 ha or about 3,5 acres, with direct access to woodland paths and fields. Although very secluded and private just a short length of unpaved road leads up to the village of Castel Rigone where there is an excellent general store, a chemist and a post office, to say nothing of the 2 bars, a 4 star relais and restaurant and the Giuseppe Verdi concert hall!

The areas around the houses and pool have been planted with masses of drought resistant plants, including lavender, rosemary and bay laurel, which create a delightful effect.
