Cluttons launches office in French Alps

13 December 2016

Cluttons has opened a new office in Courchevel in the French Alps which will offer sales services in Courchevel, Chamonix, Megeve, Meribel, Valmorel and Annecy.

With resorts that cater for all tastes, budgets and skiing abilities, this long-established second home region continues to attract international buyers.

Joanna Leverett, Cluttons head of international residential markets says: “The French Alps has historically been the number one destination for second homes in the mountains for British buyers. There are many draws to owning a home in the French Alps, home to the three largest ski areas in the world, and the many sub markets offer something to suit most budgets.”

Cluttons are delighted to be working with Pierre-Jean Sanchez, managing director of Cluttons French Alps, who has over 15 years’ experience in prime property markets in Courchevel and the wider French Alps.

Pierre-Jean said: “I am delighted to be opening the new Cluttons office in Courchevel. Cluttons has been in operation for 250 years with operations in over 50 countries across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific. In the UK Cluttons is a household name and we look forward to taking the brand into France and offering specialist market knowledge and insight to our clients.”

Courchevel is known for ultra prime chalets in one of the most sought after leisure addresses in Europe, with a huge variety of excellent skiing on offer in the Trois Vallées ski area. Neighbouring Méribel, also part of the Three Valleys, has an unrivalled selection of good-quality chalets.

Chamonix is an adventure playground in the mountains that offers a year round vibrant town and a diverse property market. The luxury chalet market is developing rapidly and there are various options for ski in ski out property on the slopes or in a pied a terre in town.

Megève is a charming town attracting a more traditional crowd and has a relaxed and chic atmosphere. The market here is made up mainly of chalets and has year round appeal. The town centre is car-free and comes complete with open-air ice rink, horse-drawn sleighs, cobbled streets and a fine church.

Located on the shores of Lake Annecy, Annecy has an ancient medieval heart criss-crossed with canals, flower-covered bridges and narrow streets. Property on the lake is highly sought after. This year round destination offers nearby skiing in winter and the lake and mountains summer.

The new French Alps office builds on recent Cluttons office openings in Barcelona, Marbella and Barbados.
