Cluttons LLP has announced the appointment of a new managing partner.
John Wood, formerly head of the Commercial division will take over the role on 1 June 2012.
He replaces Paul Chilton who will return to a full time fee earning role within the Project and building consultancy division. The new head of the Commercial division is Jamie Eastaugh.
John Wood joined Daniel Smith in 1996 prior to the merger with Cluttons in October 1997. He has led the division for the last four years and amongst other things has been responsible for the development of the Cluttons Telecoms team and its current position as the number one telecoms adviser in the UK. Prior to Daniel Smith, John worked for a number of leading property consultancies including Healey & Baker (now Cushman & Wakefield) and Gerald Eve.
John will work as part of the executive team alongside senior partner Bill Siegle and finance director Nick Godfrey.
Commenting on the appointment Bill Siegle, senior partner, said: “John brings considerable business acumen to this demanding role and I look forward to working with him and Nick Godfrey to further develop our core businesses in the UK, Middle East and throughout the Asia Pacific region.”
Yesterday, the High Court rejected arguments that the Public Safety Charitable Trust Limited (PSCT) was entitled to charitable relief from business rates in respect of occupation of properties in which it had installed wi-fi and telecommunications equipment. Following this ruling, Peter Chapman, head of rating and compensation, Cluttons, commented.
