The role

An exciting opportunity to lead the finance team of a leading London property consultancy firm to support the business on their aspirational growth plans, whilst leading the team through a period of system and process changes. This is a senior role which sits on the management board and has a high level of autonomy. It’s a very exciting time to join us and the FC will play a key part in helping the business grow.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial and accounting operations, coordinating the budget and forecasts and preparing timely monthly financial information. The FC will work closely with the CFO, the managing director and other senior members of the management board to ensure the UK business meets its targets and delivers both its short- and long-term growth plans

This is a hybrid working role with at least 3 days in our Central London office.


Responsibilities

  • Business Partnering - work closely with heads of departments to meet business targets set. This includes continuous review of financial performance
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
  • Working alongside the managing director to drive efficiencies within the business – working closely with heads of departments and management to formulate and drive forward efficiencies within the business to allow focus to be on growing business
  • To work closely with the CFO on financial and strategic projects
  • Supporting the CFO and tax advisors in the preparation and submission of tax returns (for all businesses within the group and individual partners)
  • Cashflow reporting, both short and long term
  • Management of the finance team to achieve the production of monthly management accounts in line with deadlines, including commentary and analysis against budget, quarterly VAT returns, preparation of board packs and monthly cash and P&L forecasts
  • Prepare monthly consolidated balance sheets for bank reporting requirements
  • Review and approve monthly payroll of the business
  • Manage the audit process
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

Requirements

Essential qualifications

  • ACA / ACCA qualified, or equivalent

Essential experience

  • Previous experience of business partnering
  • Real Estate experience is not essential but experience of working within a multidisciplined business is preferred
  • Excellent leadership skills and confident in building relationships at all levels
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office, including: Excel (advanced), Word (Intermediate)
  • Strong technical background
  • Familiarity with Sun accounting software and Infor Q&A ideal but not essential
  • Previous experience of Power BI helpful
