Cluttons multi-disciplinary approach supported the Stroke Association in a crucial decision that they had to make regarding their HQ building which was no longer fit for purpose.
Our stay vs go process helped the charity to decide to stay in their existing space but that they would need to embark on a major refurbishment programme for it to meet their needs.
Our commercial agency team supported the charity to find and negotiate a favourable deal for a temporary office relocation for during the refurbishment. We also accommodated some of their staff at our own offices when they needed some extra desk space.
Our building consultancy and project management teams then moved in to procure, design and deliver 13,500 sq ft of CAT A and CAT B office refurbishment, including full plant replacement and new lift installation. Understanding their requirements, particularly around accommodating visitors and stroke survivors was critical in appointing the right design and build contractor. At the same time, with a leaking building our Water Penetration survey identified and helped negotiate resolution of these problems with the landlord.
Following a 12 week construction programme the end result was a completed building which the client said was “more than just a refurbishment” and was in fact “a head office that works… and we can be proud of.”
