Cluttons adds further senior appointment to newly launched Manchester office
Cluttons has appointed David Allen as partner in its building & project management team.
David will lead the building team in Manchester, which will serve the wider northern region.
Cluttons has been on a recent hiring spree with several key national appointments and recently launched its new Manchester office, led by partner Charlie Ardern.
David joins Cluttons from his role as head of project management at Thomasons where he led a team dealing with the replacement of combustible cladding post-Grenfell. Prior to that, he was at TFT for five and a half years working for clients such as Screwfix and Amazon and leading on project monitoring work for Hotel Indigo in Manchester, student accommodation schemes across the UK, the refurb of Barton Square Shopping Arcade in the Trafford Centre and new Aldi supermarket in the city. Previous roles also included leading a team of cost consultants at AECOM and regional head of building consultancy for Matthews & Goodman in Manchester.
Robert Burke, partner and head of project and building consultancy at Cluttons, says: “With over 20 years’ experience largely spent in the North West, David brings his strong track record of building surveying and technical due diligence together with his specialist skills in monitoring surveying for funds, banks, and niche lenders which make him an extremely valuable addition to the team.
The building & project management team are key to the several core focus areas of Cluttons: infrastructure, public sector, strategic asset management, sustainability and the team works across the entire commercial and residential sides of the business.
With specialist knowledge in sustainability, retrofitting, waste, energy, flooding, and infrastructure, they aim to further support the company’s growth in the public sector. This is now even more important, as Cluttons has recently been named as a supplier on Crown Commercial Service’s (CCS) Estate Management Services (EMS) framework for the first time.
The highly sought out four-year appointment means Cluttons can take a share in an estimated £500m worth of contracts and comes as the company’s growth in public sector advice reaches new heights. The win follows Cluttons’ successful and growing relationship with several Central and Local Government clients and will act as a catalyst to further strengthen the company’s platform of public sector services across the property lifecycle.
David’s appointment works hand in hand with this new venture and hopes to support Cluttons key commercial private sector and residential clients. Moreover, this appointment marks the first of many, and with the opening of their northern hub in Manchester, Cluttons seeks to develop and build their northern office in line with the rest of the company.
Charlie, head of Cluttons’ Manchester office, said: “David’s arrival to our new Manchester office widens our offer across the northern region as we are going from strength to strength. Cluttons always works across the lifecycle to ensure clients get more than just transactional churn advice and this appointment further facilitates our ability to do just that. We have several more appointments coming up in Manchester as part of our strategic mission to grow our northern hub and work more nationally as a company.”
