Gareth Buckley

Gareth Buckley, Cluttons

Gareth leads the national rating team for Cluttons. He has extensive experience in the provision of rating advice across the UK and with reference to all types of valuation methodology. He has advised significant occupiers throughout his career including British Coal Opencast, BHS, Manchester Airport Group and the Culina Group.

Gareth has developed a specialism in the provision of rating advice attributable to vacant properties and advised in the leading empty rate case of Makro Self Service Wholesalers Ltd v Nuneaton & Bedworth Borough Council. He has also appeared in the Upper Tribunal (Lands Chamber) and has appeared before the Valuation Tribunal on numerous occasions.

Gareth has held elected committee positions within the Rating Surveyors’ Association including a period where he was Honorary Secretary and Honorary Mess Secretary. He is a Chartered Surveyor and is a member of the Valuation Faculty Board of the Institute of Revenues, Rating & Valuation (IRRV).
