After Cluttons’ residential consultancy team successfully secured vacant possession of an unloved four storey, grade II listed single family house in St John’s Wood, our project management & building consultancy team was appointed by the freeholder to design and manage its refurbishment.
The building was in poor condition and needed complete internal and external refurbishment. As experts in the restoration of older properties we were able to utilise our own inhouse design team to develop a design and architectural plan that would restore the building to its former glory.
We obtained Planning and Listed Building Consents to not only restore features that had been previously removed but to also add a new two storey side extension. This was designed to sympathetically blend in and complement the original house and to provide much needed additional internal space that would meet the demands of the local market. The project involved undertaking major tree protection work after consultation with Westminster tree experts.
Following the refurbishment’s completion, Cluttons’ residential agency team was asked to let the house for our client which they did within a month of practical completion.
