Maida Vale is a popular residential neighbourhood in northwest London within easy reach of the city centre. Situated between Paddington, St John’s Wood and Kilburn, Maida Vale has its own tube station on the Bakerloo line. One of the most distinctive parts of Maida Vale is Little Venice, the name given to a picturesque area surrounding the Grand Union Canal and the Regent’s Canal. Impressive red-bricked mansions and terraces can be found lining the canals, as well as the tree-lined avenues in the surrounding area.

Living in Maida Vale

While Maida Vale has the distinct feel of a London village, set apart from more congested central areas, it is still within easy reach of major shopping and business areas. 

Oxford circus is only 12 minutes away on the Bakerloo line, and Paddington, a major mainline station to the Thames Valley, southwest England, south Wales and Heathrow Airport, is only two stops from Maida Vale tube station, and is in easy walking distance.  With St John’s Wood and Hampstead to the north and Kensington and Notting Hill to the south, Maida Vale is a highly desirable place to be located.

Many people are attracted to Maida Vale for its tree lined streets and abundant green spaces, including Regent’s Park, which is only minutes away. There are number of independent restaurants, bars and cafes in Maida Vale, providing a distinct social scene, as well as various historic pubs, such as the art-nouveau Warrington pub and hotel, along Warrington Crescent. The popular Canal Café Theatre is located in the heart of Little Venice and is a popular fringe theatre and comedy venue.
