We provide regular advice to the Port of London Authority (PLA) in respect of the value of rights to place works in, under and over the River Thames in accordance with the Port of London Act 1968.
This work also includes land valuation, acquisition, over sail valuations, easements, wayleave consents, outfall considerations, and marine infrastructure valuations.
Cluttons represented the Port of London Authority (PLA) on the A122 Lower Thames Crossing (LTC) Development Consent Order (DCO) application. The DCO application was made by National Highways Limited to the Secretary of State for Transport under section 37 of the Planning Act 2008. The Compulsory Purchase team advised the PLA in relation to the Compulsory Purchase powers sought by the Project over the PLA’s estate.
Chris Jakes who has advised the PLA for nearly 20 years, worked with the PLA internal project team to protect and mitigate the impact of the LTC Project across the PLA estate. This included consultation, engagement, land agreement negotiation, inputting into the overarching Statement of Common Ground, the DCO Protective Provisions, and the valuation of land and rights both permanently and temporarily. We also represented the PLA at the LTC Compulsory Purchase DCO examination hearings.
